A selection of our recent acquisitions:
Antique, Victorian Long Handled Faux Tortoiseshell Lorgnette Spectacles. Long handled Lorgnette, the hinged lenses folding into the marbled lucite handle. The lenses are slightly magnified; however, these could be altered to a prescription lens or plain glass. No maker’s mark. Invented by Englishman George Adams, the lorgnette was usually used as a piece of jewellery, rather than to enhance vision. Society ladies preferred them to spectacles, especially at parties or the opera (becoming the model for today's opera glasses).

Excellent Antique Condition. The frame has great colour & marking, you will notice some light age related surface scratching & wear. Hinge works well. Lenses overall in good order. No case. High resolution images are part of the condition report, please view closely.
